Stepping into a new realm of efficiency – On India’s 75th Independence Day, we at Agrim Housing Finance have more than one reason to celebrate. I am elated to share with you that we are moving from on automated to an intelligent platform, christened Agrim Technology on Mobile (ATOM). As a housing finance company dedicated to fulfilling the homeownership dreams of the informal, self-employed segment in India, our aim from day one has been to offer easy access to finance to our customers with superior technology solutions.

Strengthening risk assessment

ATOM takes us a step further in our mission of strengthening our technological prowess. ATOM is our key differentiator among our peers that and helps us shorten the distance between credit assessment and disbursal by as much as 70%, while capturing 3x times customer information.

Atom stands on the pillars of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and supervised machine learning that take us into the next realm of sustainability scoring. The sustainability assessment module developed with supervised machine learning helps us with accurate mapping of customer data captured in the lockdown periods. With this, we can assess the creditworthiness of the customers even during times of economic duress, like the first and second wave of the pandemic.

With evidence of a potential customer’s sustainability in times, we are assured that he is adequately prepared to make repayments on a home loan in the event of adverse events like the anticipated third wave of the pandemic. With improved access to technology through ATOM we will improve ease of usage for our customers manifold through a combination of factors such as e-signatures and real time evaluation of personal and property records.

With ATOM, we are also prepared to use state of the art customer engagement mechanisms using Natural Language processing or (NLP) techniques. Humanity is at a critical juncture where technology is being used to understand or process human behaviour. The right use of this crucial part of AI based technology, helps us get a better understanding of human behavioral traits. By decoding behavioral traits through NLP techniques, we will be able to assign a trust score to our customer’s to further customize his ease of access to a simple home finance solution.

In our pursuit to improve our technology, we have not lost sight of our purpose to provide dignity in fulfilling the homeownership dreams of many who find themselves outside the purview of the traditional lending modules.
